One Last song
Staring out the window on my own
Bowed before the greatest of storms
I am not shocked at all by the force of it
I have seen it growing wild
Threatening to break me
Although it is my own, is it my fault
If the world was turned into a wasteland
If flowers were turned
to stones and then all life became a riddle,
and me again a stranger
But I will wait, I’ll wait…
Until the end flows into the beginning
Time will hold still
Until the voice that I am longing to hear resound
Will you come with me out of this labyrinth of tears?
Alighted on the line between life and oblivion
About to leave this world in silence
Birds are unable to sing
Their lovers have gone missing
Oh dear, why can’t you hear me?
Am I the last one of our species?
Have I forgotten our song?
Am I singing for those who will never hear
My cry for an empty world dying
In the name of growth
We’ll be gone a million times…
Their song will be the last battle we share
Heartfelt
Loud enough to wake the dead
Tell me, while we are still here,
If love was ever a dream
A cry for an empty world dying
in the name of growth
We’ll be gone a million times…
Their song will be the last of our prayers
Heartfelt
Loud enough to wake the dead
Tell me while we are still here
If love was ever a dream
Where we had thought to be alone
Shall we be with all the world
Once known and now almost forgotten
Don’t leave me alone in this world we have ruined
And may we call them all back one by one
Will you come with me into the labyrinth
I will sing you to the end of times
Your darkness shall be my light
I’ll sing you to the end of times
I love the light and shade between Bryan's dirty and Emma's forlorn vocals. There are so many layers to this recording that are driven home through contrast. Plus the riffs are brilliant and get me moving. I can't stop listening to Thou and Emma in general lately. spaceman2250

The music of Reading group Chaos Emeralds feels like it weighs megatons, with its thick rivers of distorted guitar and gluey textures. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 15, 2022
For the first couple of tracks, I was like “Hey, it sounds just like Menace Ruine, but without the Angelic Process-ish part”. Then I checked on the web and… it’s actually the same vocalist. No wonder it’s that good.
Fans of Subrosa might want to check that out, even if it’s not *that* similar. Alice M.
